Overflowing with Ambition

A one-woman revolution who exclaims that 'some of my dreams are so big they would scare you' - there is nothing this Backwoods Barbie cannot conquer. The godmother of Miley Cyrus; as well as selling over 100 million records worldwide, she owns her own theme park - DollyWood, been immortalised on Sesame Street and The Simpsons, has received 5 Golden Globe nominations for her film work and was approached by Revlon in the early 90's to create a signature line of wigs.

Earlier this year, Emily Eavis told Radio 4's Front Row that she had made it her "life's mission" to get Parton to agree to perform at Glastonbury, claiming "She stands totally alone, she's such a brilliant star and I think one of the greatest female stars of our generation". Her quips, confidence and ballsiness was never more proved when she refused to let Elvis Presley sing I Will Always Love You, due to a dispute over publishing rights.

Her debut at the Sunday afternoon legends slot on the Pyramid stage cannot fail to lift your spirits and restore some sparkle to the Pilton landscape. Last year Kenny Rodgers got the crowd singing with his version of their famous duet Islands on the Stream - and now it's Dolly turn to come along and tell us her side of the story.
