Following the success of the Barbican's first Classical Weekender in 2015, once again music will take over the Centre…

With sixty sessions over one weekend, showcasing the infinite variety of classical pieces, this is the perfect festival for lovers of live music. From innovative new commissions with the likes of Chilly Gonzales and Anna Meredith to some of the finest classical scores ever written, and performances from today’s leading performers like Iestyn Davies and the LSO to Â鶹ԼÅÄ Young Musician 2016 Sheku Kanneh-Mason. Whatever your thing, you’ll find it at Sound Unbound.

The Barbican has curated the programme to showcase music at its forward-thinking best, mixing classics with sounds from living composers who are continuing to develop and drive the genre. And we're pushing the boundaries of how we experience classical music: get intimate at the in-the-round Pit Sessions (in Association with Boiler Room), hear Silent Opera in the conservatory or explore choral commissions in the Curve Gallery.
