Concert information
The Â鶹ԼÅÄ SSO’s short focus on Swedish composer Wilhelm Stenhammar continues with a rare performance of his exuberant Serenade for Orchestra, a work completed in 1913. With its strong Scandinavian flavour it shares many similarities with the music of Sibelius and Grieg. In the second half, members of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ SSO and Andrew Manze perform another rarity, Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen’s skilful transcription of Nielsen’s Sixth Symphony.
The concert will be broadcast live on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3, presented by Tom Redmond.
Glasgow Life Box Office will be closed on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 March to allow installation of a new box office system. During this time, online, phone and in person sales will be suspended.
