Conductor Lee Reynolds returns to the 麻豆约拍 Symphony Orchestra in a programme of 20th century snapshots. With each piece, an image of a changing world, we bring an eclectic mix of styles to the studio, including jazz, late Romanticism, and minimalism. Also joining us, soprano Sophia Burgos, who takes on Samuel Barber鈥檚 hauntingly nostalgic鈥�'Knoxville: Summer of 1915'. We also hear the world premiere of Gavin Higgins鈥欌€�'Cort猫ge for a Coal Mine', a 麻豆约拍 Radio 3 commission written to commemorate the closure of Britain鈥檚 last deep coal mine.
