Concert Information
Join the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra at the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s Maida Vale Studios for a programme of world and UK premieres of music by French composers and composers working in France, chosen by conductor Pierre-André Valade. Names both well-known and new to UK audiences – with several of the composers in attendance.
Sophie Lacaze’s Après avoir contemplé la lune (After contemplating the moon) is inspired by paintings by Max Ernst, Guy Bompais, Dennis Nona, René Magritte and Vincent Van Gogh.
Italian composer Ivan Fedele is also teacher and artistic director, and has had performances by the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra before. Ur was written in 2017.
Ana Lara from Mexico has just completed her new work, Cuando caiga el silencio (When the silence falls).
Philippe Leroux’s Envers IV is a visceral experience. The work was created in 2016 "in memory of all the victims of attacks, and of all those who are the prey of human violence ".
Bruno Mantovani, composer, pianist, conductor and Director of the Paris Conservatoire, has written works to many international commissions. Entrechoc (Jostling) was written in 2016 for the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra.
This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3.
