Beethoven Emperor Concerto
Respected pianist Steven Osborne performs Beethoven’s majestic ‘Emperor’ piano concerto in a concert featuring the UK premiere of Christopher Rouse’s Prospero’s Rooms, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Masque of the Red Death and Leonid Andreyev’s play The Black Maskers. The spark of inspiration for Lutoslawski’s richly imagined Concerto for Orchestra was the folk music of the Kurpie region in Poland. Expect a feast of dazzling virtuosity from the orchestra’s players under the baton of Michał Nesterowicz.
Please note that Michał Nesterowicz and Steven Osborne replace the originally advertised conductor and soloist.
