About This Event

Singer Melanie Pappenheim, Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers Ed Price and Margaret Cameron and members of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Proms Youth Choir Academy perform a brand new piece of music, created collaboratively by the group and taking inspiration from Sir Harrison Birtwistle’s ‘The Moth Requiem’ as featured in the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers concert later this evening.

The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Proms Youth Choir Academy, currently in its pilot year and based in London, is a new scheme that aims to discover new voices from all musical backgrounds and develop them in a choral setting. The Academy offers young people the chance to develop their voice, explore classical choral singing and technique, whilst working alongside professional classical singers in a friendly, supportive and fun-filled environment. Earlier this year the Academy joined other singers from the Proms Youth Choir to perform John Adams’ Harmonium in the First Night of the Proms.
