About This Event

Music by Schubert includes part of the incidental music of Rosamunde, as well as songs from mythology including ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Erlkönig’, in orchestrations by Berlioz, Brahms and Reger. Â鶹ԼÅÄ NOW also performs the first of Grieg’s Peer Gynt suites, with the hair-raising ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’, alongside songs from Peer Gynt including the haunting ‘Solveig’s Song’. The programme also features Sibelius’s masterful tone-poem for soprano and orchestra, Luonnotar, setting texts from the Kalevala.
