Concert Information
Charles Dickens did more than any other to shape the traditions of modern Christmas.
Actor Simon Callow, who has written about and portrayed Dickens extensively, joins the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers for a very special performance, celebrating Charles Dickens and his association with Christmas. Interspersed with carols of the time sung by the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers, Simon Callow plays Dickens reminiscing about Christmas through his eyes as an author, husband and father. There will be a chance to join in with festive favourites such as O Come All Ye Faithful and God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen.
From the splendour of St Luke’s Chelsea (the church in which Charles Dickens married) join Simon Callow, the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers and conductor Ben Palmer for carols, readings, mulled wine and mince pies – the perfect start to Christmas.
All tickets include a complimentary glass of mulled wine, or soft drink, and a mince pie to be enjoyed after the concert.
Concert curated by Simon Callow and Jonathan Manners.
Unreserved seating. Please note that some seats may have a restricted view.
