Concert Information

A feast of (mostly) American music with links to Paris opens the Cheltenham Music Festival. There’s George Gershwin’s lively and affectionate portrait of the French capital, alongside his other jazz-imbued orchestral masterpiece Rhapsody in Blue – composed just before he moved to Paris in 1924, and featuring in this performance Martin James Bartlett, 18 year-old winner of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Young Musician 2014.

This concert also introduces the Music Festival’s Featured Composer / Artist, the London-resident American, Eric Whitacre – featuring the orchestral version of one of his most popular choral pieces, Water Night.

This concert is promoted by Cheltenham Music Festival.
