Translating to ‘My Â鶹ԼÅÄland’ in Smetana’s native language, this set of six symphonic poems explores the countryside as well as tragic and triumphal moments of Bohemian history.
Whilst Smetana’s piece is an evocative journey through the historic landmarks and countryside of his homeland, this afternoon’s music sweeps all nationalities along in its familiar currents.
