Juanjo Mena, Martin Roscoe and the 鶹Լ Philharmonic play intoxicating melodies by Britten, plus Granados and Albéniz add a drizzle of the Iberian peninsula.
Britten’s Four Sea Interludes- considered “one of the greatest English operas ever written”- gets things off to an invigorating start.
At the centre of the concert is Granados’s Goyescas: Intermezzo – inspired on Goya’s paintings.
The concert finishes with the Chopin and Schumann-inspired Piano Concerto by Isaac Albéniz, played by renowned pianist Martin Roscoe.
