About This Event

It’s a Â鶹ԼÅÄ Proms carnival and everyone’s invited! Join author Michael Morpourgo, poet Lemn Sissay, the seven talented Kanneh-Mason siblings and starry musical friends for this special Family Prom. Explore the sounds and rhythms of the Manchester Caribbean Carnival with brand new music by Daniel Kidane and narration by Sissay, before delving into the world of your imagination with Saint-Saëns’s much-loved suite The Carnival of the Animals. This musical menagerie packed with braying donkeys, energetic kangaroos, a serene swan and an aquarium of glinting fish gets a fresh update in witty new poems by Morpurgo.

Join the carnival and come dressed as your favourite animal; you could choose an animal from The Carnival of the Animals or swim, hop or fly off in another direction. To help you get started, check out our animal mask making activity hosted by Ricky Martin (CÂ鶹ԼÅÄ’s Art Ninja) and don’t forget to Upload pictures of your creations for the chance to be featured on our Carnival Celebration online showcase!
