About This Event

Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade tells magical tales from the Thousand and One Nights in music suffused with oriental colour and seafaring drama.

Swashbuckling battles are played out on the high seas in Korngold’s stirring score to the 1940 film The Sea Hawk, while danger also lurks in the waters of Anders Hillborg’s Sirens, inspired by the mythical seductresses of Â鶹ԼÅÄr’s Odyssey.
