Young British conductor Adam Hickox returns to the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra. He conducts Stravinsky’s colourful ballet Petrushka as well as Sofia Gubaidulina’s Fairytale Poem, based on The Little Piece of Chalk, a fairy-tale by the Czech writer, MiloÅ¡ Macourek. And the concert begins with music from Dame Ethel Smyth’s 1906 opera The Wreckers.
