According to Sri-Lankan born Suren Seneviratne, the sound of My Panda Shall Fly took some time to come together. The Londoner, who has no musical background or formal tuition, experimented with shoe-gazing and post-rock styles before zoning in on creating beautifully pieced together dub and electronica. The music is thoughtful and enchanting and when we found out that Suren had a degree in Fine Art, it just seemed to make sense.
My Panda Shall Fly is extremely well known on the club scene having performed 1,000s of DJ sets across and the land. Alongside a debut EP and a number of tracks on compilation records, he has also produced high profile remixes for the likes of The Weeknd, Fink and Little Boots.
