Concert Information
The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra's brass and wind sections shine at this afternoon concert featuring contemporary music for wind and brass instruments under the baton of clarinettist and conductor Michael Collins.
British pianist Ronan O'Hora performs Homages, Edward Gregson's rhythmic Concerto for Piano and Winds inspired by the piano concertos of Stravinsky, Bartók, Rachmaninov and Poulenc. Stravinsky's 1947 revision of his ritualistic Symphonies of Winds Instruments and shorter works by British composers Elizabeth Maconchy, Malcolm Arnold and Colin Matthews complete this programme at the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Maida Vale Studios.
This concert is recorded for future broadcast on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3's Afternoon on 3.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
