About this event
Joshua Weilerstein here makes his public debut with the Â鶹ԼÅÄ SO. With its rhythmic drive and new colourings (including an alto saxophone) Rachmaninov’s scintillating Symphonic Dances give up no hint that this would be his final orchestral work. Before it come two premieres: a world-first for Â鶹ԼÅÄ SO’s Artist in Association Brett Dean’s Hamlet Diffraction, drawn from the opera he’s writing for Glyndebourne’s 2017 season, and the UK premiere of six Gesualdo madrigals orchestrated by Joseph Hallman.
