About this event
Armando Iannucci's all-star, brutal, comedy satire tells the story of the aftermath of Stalin's demise as the remaining members of the Secretariat of the Communist Party jostle for power.
The score, by Christopher Willis is a masterpiece of pastiche and drama; Willis immersed himself in the music of great 20th century Russian symphonists like Shostakovich, Weinberg and Myaskovsky. Tonight Willis' score will be performed live by the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra, led by one of the UK's leading film music conductors Matt Dunkley.
This performance of The Death of Stalin - In Concert will be followed by a Q&A featuring director Armando Iannucci, composer Christopher Willis, producer Kevin Loader and stars of the film Jason Isaacs and Michael Palin.
Tickets on general sale from Friday 15 December, 10am.
Co-produced by the Barbican and the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra.
