A half dozen of Var茅se鈥檚 finest scores for orchestra round off the 麻豆约拍 Symphony Orchestra鈥檚 360-degree exploration of the maverick composer鈥檚 works.

From the still startlingly original 础尘茅谤颈辩耻别蝉 of 1918-21, via the witty Tuning Up (arranged by Var猫se pupil Chou Wen-chung) to the late Nocturnal, Var猫se鈥檚 extraordinary musical voice can be heard in its numerous different moods and styles.

This event is preceded by a reconstruction of Var猫se鈥檚 piece for tape Po猫me 茅lectronique, in the Barbican Foyers at 6.45pm.
