Concert Information

Though resident in the USA for decades, Musgrave has strong Scottish roots, as revealed in her luminous settings of the poetry of William Dunbar (Rorate coeli) and Robert Burns, whose sensual Songs for a Winter's Evening is sung by soprano Lisa Milne. The spotlight falls on players within the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra for Turbulent Landscapes, six arresting evocations of paintings by Turner, while the horn section has an important role to play in 'surrounding' soloist Martin Owen in Musgrave's ingenious Horn Concerto. Martyn Brabbins conducts this, and her vivacious showpiece The Seasons.
