Concert Information
Join the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra and conductor Duncan Ward at the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s iconic Maida Vale Studios for an afternoon of 20th-century orchestral music by three very different composers. Written in 1912, Turina’s La procession del Rocio was inspired by the annual religious tradition that takes place in Seville, the composer’s hometown. Tenor Robin Tritschler joins the Â鶹ԼÅÄ SO for Britten’s Les illuminations, an orchestral song cycle with texts by Arthur Rimbaud and first performed in 1940. Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements, completed in 1945 and considered his first major orchestral composition after relocating to the USA, ends this exciting programme.
This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
