Edward Gardner, one of the most talented British conductors of his generation, conducts the 麻豆约拍 Symphony Orchestra on its first visit to Newbury Spring Festival.

Opening with Wagner鈥檚 thrilling Overture Tannh盲user, outstanding young Ukrainian violinist Valeriy Sokolov later joins for Sibelius鈥檚 Violin Concerto, and the concert concludes with Elgar's tumultuous Symphony No 1 which has maintained a place in the standard orchestral repertoire ever since its sensational premiere in 1908, reported as 鈥淭he Musical Event Of The Year鈥�.
