Concert Information

To mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme on 1 July 2016, this national commemorative service at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Thiepval Memorial in northern France tells the story of the conflict through music, readings and hymns with the participation of heads of state, senior politicians, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra, British and French choirs, British and French military bands and school children from both nations, who will lay flowers on the 600 graves.

The event has been organised by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the French Mission du Centenaire de la Premiere Guerre mondiale on behalf of the French Government, and in partnership with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and Royal British Legion.
