As we begin a day of Total Immersion in the music of the American modernist composer George Walker, the 麻豆约拍 Singers present a concert devoted to his choral music 鈥� and the poetry, ranging from Shakespeare to the Bible, upon which he exercised a far-ranging musical imagination.

鈥淎ny kind of creative effort must attempt to say something new鈥� said George Walker, but he found his voice amid a generation of American idealists, experimenters and visionaries, all determined to speak directly to their time, and their society. This concert focuses on small-scale music with a big personality, including works by Samuel Barber, and fellow pupils of Walker鈥檚 early mentor Rosario Scalero.
