Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers: Duruflé and Poulenc

Join the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers, Iain Farrington and David Hill for a selection of twentieth century French choral works, inspired by medieval chant and plainsong.

Maurice Duruflé's signature work, his calm and meditative Requiem, is at the heart of this programme which also features Poulenc's ethereal Litanies à la Vierge noir for female voices, and monastic Quatre petites prières de Saint François d'Assise - inspired by the prayers of Catholic Saint Francis of Assise. Considered one of the greatest twentieth century choral works, this arrangement of the Requiem features obligato cello solo (performed here by Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Orchestra principal cellist Susan Monks), organ and voices.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
