"We knew within a few moments of listening to ‘Goji Berry Sunset' from Jealous of the Birds’ debut EP last year that Naomi Hamilton was a very special prospect. While the music was decidedly lo-fi (it was all recorded in her Portadown bedroom, after all) the teenagers knack for writing beautiful lyrics and extremely catchy hooks was instantly apparent. We saw her live for the first time a few days later, and despite the almost instant hype surrounding Naomi, she was confidant, assured and charming. A handful of carefully selected shows saw her hone her craft remarkably fast - to the point she was more than ready for a full debut album just one year after those bedroom demos. Thankfully - given how much we’d spoken about Naomi’s potential, the album is incredible. At the heart of it is campfire vibes and quirky storytelling, there’s plenty of colour and surprises - to the point debates raged in the studio as to which tracks we’d play on the radio.
