About English Regions - David Holdsworth

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ English Regions are responsible for all non-networked television, text and radio output in England as well as the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's local websites covering the English Regions.

The best known output is the daily regional news programmes such as Look North and Points West, and Local Radio stations like Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Newcastle and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent.

The English Regions also produce regional aspects of the , and Inside Out on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ1, as well as the regional pages on Ceefax and digital text.

44 Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Local websites cover the whole of England, providing a range of information and entertainment features about local issues.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News Interactive has teamed up with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ English Regions to maintain teams of journalists in each of the English regional centres, providing the news content for both the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Local websites and the site.

71% of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s domestic output hours are produced by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ English Regions, for about 7% of the licence fee.

There are twelve regions, each of which has a regional head, who report to David Holdsworth, Controller English Regions, based in Birmingham.
