Has anyone been to see St Cuthberts Relics at Durham Cathedral? I know there is a gold pectoral cross, the coffin - but I believe there are other relics of his on display??
There is also a piece of silk Byzantine fabric and some 10th C embroidery. The coffin and cross are extraordinary survivals, but the real glory of Durham must be the glorious building itself, and the fact that us history enthusiasts can stand by the tomb of Bede.
