I've been surfing various sites on this, and the subject seems as confusing as ever.
About ten years ago, a consensus was forming that Ankhkheperure Neferneferuaten was now more or less identified as Nefertiti acting as King in her own right; however, some sites still hold out for an ephemeral Male Smenkhare, with various identifications, some of which seem improbable ( Zannanza of Mittanni,of Amarna letters fame being one). Any posters any the wiser?
