Changes to Single Sign On

  Hello all,
  
  Here's a message from DNA concerning alterations to the signing-on process:
  
  
  
  "Hi everyone - Over the next couple of months there are going to be a few changes to the message boards, more on those very soon. Some of you might have already spotted that quite a few ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ sites have moved onto the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ's new sign in system ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD (more about that here for those interested ). Here on the boards we'll also be upgrading to the shiny new iD system in the next few weeks, but if you've upgraded your existing (SSO) account to iD already on another section of bbc.co.uk, you'll notice that the name which shows up on the boards will be your new one. And for anyone out there with a username of over 30 characters, from tomorrow it'll only show the first 30 - hopefully you'll all be able to squeeze into 30 characters though!
  
  Anyway, just in case you're not sure how that applies to you here are some individual cases which might explain better:
  β€œI have an SSO account which I upgraded to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD, and I still use both.” The 2 changes above are applicable to you. Any changes you make to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD will reflect back in the message boards, and your message board β€œusername” will be truncated to 30 characters. Updating ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD will update your message boards details.
  β€œI only have an SSO account.” This won’t affect you now, but we'll ask you to upgrade your account in the next few weeks - it'll be easy I promise!
  β€œI have an SSO account, with a separate ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD account and the two have no relation to each other.” Your ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD account is unaffected, but the SSO account will be affected if you upgrade it to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iD in the future.
