There was one sentence in the article that made me laugh:
Traditionally, Anglo-Saxon royalty were buried in the south, say experts.Β
Perhaps what they should have said was that the major finds to date have been in the south. They seem to be implying that any northern royalty were taken south to be buried.
It's an example of the Saxon-centric media. Anything from these times is Saxon.
With their view of history makes you wonder why we don't live in Saxland and don't speak Saxonese.
Saw some of the artifacts last night on the local Beeb - what was there looked very impressive.

If you go to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ news site, select England and then select either Tyne or Tees, they seem to have a video stream whatsit of last nights news programme.
I can never get them to work, but you might have better luck.
