What is the point of this transcript of a news piece? What is it you want to say? Are you in favour of the development?

We Irish are fond of stopping developments like this all the time. Remember Wood quay in Dublin in the 70s, Carrickmines a few years ago, etc..

Can't the government set aside an emergency fund to pay for immediate excavation of sites whose integrity is threatened by the bulldozer? It isn't as though we haven't got the money - this year alone government coffers are 5 billion up on forecasts.

Also, if it is cheaper and shorter to go west of Tara, why haven't they?

Can you link us to a website that explains the pros and cons involved?

I forward this appeal from Tarawatch as whatever the outcome of the motorway there is much to do before any more work destroys the rich archaeological heritage of this site. I guess there is some point to being informed of this news. Tara is as much a part of world heritage as Stonehenge, the Pyramids or the Acropolis.

Exciting news! An experienced pilot has contacted us and volunteered to
fly the Tara area in order to take photos and do a geophysical survey
of the Hill of Tara archaeological complex, including sites like Rath
Lugh. All of the geophys done so far has been from the ground, and is
limited in area. We need to locate the equipment and an archaeologist
who can perform the survey. Please forward this to anyone you know
    might be able to help.

The people in the area were canvassed and the majority were in favour of the road. If anything of worth is found it will be preserved. There are archaeological digs all along the site. Roads are needed too...
