    Hi All,

I notice that they're referred to in lots of other books, but I just wondered what peoples' opinions were on them. I'm guessing they are standard texts, but are they pretty objective and worth using as references for essays, or am I better off using books that specialise more on the topic I want to cover?

The main reason is that Volume IX (The Last Age of the Roman Republic, 146-43 B.C.) is back in the library, but it's a hell of a chunky book and if it's not that beneficial to an essay I'll leave trekking across London to collect it... smiley - winkeye

    Cheers,

    RF
