I have been enthralled by the series, "Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall of an Empire". However, I was concerned to see Constantine being accused of murdering Licinius and Fausta.

Everywhere I have looked I have read that Licinius was granted mercy by Constantine, but then Licinius was accused of plotting with the Goths against Constantine, and was executed as a result. This is quite different to how the series portrayed events.

Again, the series accuses Constantine of murdering Fausta. All that I have read says that Constantine executed his own son for alleged adultery with Fausta, but when he found out that these were just rumours created by her, he had her executed for this.

What is the basis for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ portraying as fact that Constantine betrayed and murdered both of these individuals?
