Hello there - I'm interested in finding out more about the evolution of mankind. Not so much the scientific side of things (Darwin et al), but the historical aspects of this. Where did humans first appear and what's the chronology of major events and catalysts that have led us to pretty much take over the planet. Any suggestions people might have as to any good DVD series out there would be gratefully received. Feel free to suggest books as well, but my current reading list is so long, I may not actually get round to it unless it's on DVD unfortunately. Cheers.

"The Evolution of Modern Humans in Africa: A Comprehensive Guide" by Pamela R. Willoughby (AltaMira Press, Pb. Β£33, Hb. Β£62.
Cheers,

You could try checking with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ shop to see if they have any series on DVD.
Also try posting on the Science pages. They used to have one headed evolution but unfortunately that went when they redid the science pages as they redid the history pages.
