Ephesian Letters

Apparently the Statue of Artemis at the Artemision at modern Selcuk nr Ephesus had around its base what were known as Ephesian letters, which were used in magical charms. Does anyone have any info about these letters ie - what they looked like, where to find them? Also any theories as to what happened to the cult statues housed in the ancient temples? I seem to recall reading that either the statue of Zeus from Olympia or Athena from the Parthenon being taken to Constntinople.
