my local pub is called the butchers arms becouse its built on the site of an ancient butchers, on the sign outside is writen OMNI SUBJECISTI SUB PEDIBUS OVES ET BOVES .could anyone here translate this for me becouse i have an interest in local history.Any help would be much apreciated.
"All [are subject/ed?] under the feet of sheep & cattle" - my O-level Latin is a long time ago! But seems to make some sort of sense for a butcher....
thanks for that
