Ancient buildings ruin, discovered by Chinese archaeologists in a lake in the Southern province of Yunnan, are said to have a strong resemblance to the pyramids built by the Maya Indians in S-America.

The archaeologists came upon them under water of Lake Fuxian, the deepest in China but one. So far the area concerned covers about 2.4 square km and has eight buildings of which there are three which have pyramid forms assembling those in Central - and South –America.

It is thought that the remains are about 2000 year old. Archaeologists hope that they will find more evidence as there seems to be indications that there could be the ruins of a large town below the water level.
