Contact the National Archives at Kew - they hold all the records, although the records of those still alive cannot be accessed except by nok.

    Hi..... try writing to

    Army Personnel Centre.
    Civil Secretariat.
    Historical Disclosures.
    Mail Point 400.
    Kentigem House.
    65, Brown Street.
    Glasgow.

These hold all army records, maybe email first to see if they can help.

I got my uncles army records from this address, he was killed and buried in Norway in 1940. You will need to give them his rank and army number etc. Good luck. Carole.
