Today we celebrate 67th anniversary of Warsaw Uprising and commemorate 200 000 Poles murdered by Germans in Warsaw during 63 days of fightings.
Here you can see a digital reconstruction of how Warsaw looked right after the liberation. the city was supposed to disappear forever. Yet it still exists.

On this day: 1 August
•1944: The Warsaw Uprising begins as partisans attempt to liberate Poland's capital from the Germans.Β
Should the members of the Armia Krajowa (Polish Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Army) be described at 'partisans'?
I don't think so. Especially that Polish Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Army established in occupied Poland a regular underground state, including judicial system and clandestine education, so its members had not much to do with what we understand as "partisans".
