Hello there,
My husband believes his father served in the Welsh Guards, please could you inform me who I contact or where do I look for evidence of this;
He was born 1920.
Many thanks

If he was only born in 1920 - the medal cards will nt yet be in the public domain.
You would need to have his service number to then write to the medal office of the MOD to see what medals he was awarded, also apply to the MOD for his service record, which you can only do if you are the surviving next of kin.
You would need to provide proof of relationship to him, by way of birth death marriage certificates.
The first port of call should be the London Gazette online, which published lists of military appointments and awards. If you can find his name in the London Gazette it should include his service number which is pretty crucial if you need to pursue this further.

The Welsh Guards have an association, they might be able to help.
