Just trying to estbalish if anyone of the WW1 boffins on this forum has knowledge or is able to point me in the right direction of whereabouts the regiment was throughout the war as I am struggling to find any details. Have been reading a large amount regarding this regiment as most of my relatives fought and some died in the regiment.
Any help greatfully received

Go to Wikipedia and you will find at the bottom of the page on the Reg a list of Battle honours from formation to today
I have not seen a copy but the definitive book on the movements of British regiments seems be "Lineage Book of British Land Forces, 1660-1978" by J B M Frederick.
You can also find a lot in The Nafziger Collection of Orders of Battle.
There is a website about the Yorkshire Regiment in WWI

An exelent website for the British Army in WW1 is 'The Long long Trail' which gives the details of all the battalions of Infantry regiments - regular, TF, reserve and service. Also huge amounts of ather info. Your query does not make it clear if your relatives served in the West Yorkshire Regt. or the Yorkshire Regt. Another recomended source would be the Regimental museum.
GB,
Fulwell has mentioned the Long Long Trail site,
This is a link to the Yorkshire and West Yorkshire regiments,giving a short history of each battalion;
