My husbands grandfather was in the Oxs & Bucks and was among those who fought at Salerno.
I am going to be in the area in September and would be grateful for any information anyone had on the landings.
Ask your local library if they have or can get Operation Avalanche: The Salerno Landings 1943 by Des Hickey and Gus Smith.
If you try searching online, "Operation Avalanche" might be more successful than searching for "Salerno"
