  •1999: Nato begins bombing Serb forces in Kosovo, where atrocities are being committed against ethnic Albanians. 
  
  Does anyone know where there is an authoritative account of these atrocities?

  along the years we have gone through many discussions on these boards about the Yugoslavian civil war, where I and if I recall it well also you contributed to. Again if I recall it well, unless you hint me to the thread, as I have no time anymore to search the long list of my contributions, we haven't yet discussed Kosovo.
  
  My point of view in the whole affair was among others and also in the Yugoslavian civil war with the first recognition of Slovenia and Croatia by Germany, which set the whole international "carrousel" in action, the question of international "legality".
  
  And also in the Kosovo "action" from Nato (and I know that is one of your favourites) there is an enduring discussion about legality.

  My humble opinion to begin with: it also turns out that it is not international legality but the factual power of the "great manitous" what decides what is right or wrong... might is right...and in all this Europe is still not a "great manitou"...and they were (are?) still by the US considered as tending to inaction, especially as they are debating in interfering in the internal affairs of "souvereign states"...
