Can some one please confirm the the following; my granddad served during the Second World War and I have beign told alsorts of what he did and where he served.
Well my dad's sister has know said that he served in the Army's Medical Core on board ships. Can some one confirm if the Army's Medical Core served on ships or not. I would of thought that it would have been on dry land.
Dave
I expect there were hospital ships, just like there were in WWI, in which case there would've been army doctors on board.
It will help your googling to know that it's actually spelled 'corps' not 'core'. Most likely he was with the Royal Army Medical Corps, often abbreviated to RAMC. Hope that helps.
