Was the British army in Northern Ireland
If they was their part is missing from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ section on that topic?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. As Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, there are three "Irish" regiments with their home bases there.
Additional regiments - like the Paras in '72 - have been deployed there ever since the Troubles in a peacekeeping role. Of course, given that it is Catholics who generally wish NI to leave the UK, they have been seen to side with the Protestants.
If I remember correctly the Brits first went to the six counties at the end of the '6o's in order to protect the catholic civil rights marchers who were regularly being attacked by protestant'Paisleyites'.
