A friend sent me a series of pics today of a T34 tank with German markings being rescued from deep mud after 65 years, in almost perfect condition, in fact with a bit of tinkering, the engine worked. Bet there isn't many W W 2 (Or even later) bits of kit that could do that.
Sir,
When a Halifax was resuced from a lake in Norway some years ago a battery was connected to the instrument panel ... and guess what happened?
Regards Spruggs.
Spruggles, what's with the Sir bit? I was looking round for my Father!!
Spruggles -
My guess is - Nothing.
Did the Halifax complain about being left in freezing water without so much as a hot water bottle ?

I didn't realise the German's put captured one to use, needs must I suppose. The comfort level must have been a shock to crews used to German Tanks.
It was in Jovvi Estonia, A young boy remembers seeing track marks going into the lake towards the end of the war,and bubbles for months later. Sadly though, there is no way I can transfer it to this site.

O K, if you just type in T34 tank found in Johvi Estonia. It should bring it up.

Thanks, Fred. By the way, Wehrmacht used hundreds of captured Red Army tanks, including allegedly outdated T-26s.
