Watched this fascinating account of Uganda last night on C5 (other TV channels are available) and wondered two things.....
How much was Amin (in commiting his coup d'etat) tolerated because he was an anti-Communist stalwart in Central/East Africa?
Is there a book which goes into more detail about the stroy behing the movie?
I have to say I've never seen archive footage of General A but I can imagine he was even "madder" than Forrest Whittaker's portrayal of him - a character from what I saw and have read who'll never be rehabilitated in the eyes of history.
Is it true BTW that he was British Army Heavy Weight champion?
