help please ,my 4 x grandfather Sergeant James Hughes or Hughs 41st foot regiment served in India ,I am trying to find out where he came from he was there in 1834,I have tried Kew ,there is no service record for him ,I would have to go to KEW to look at the muster rolls but I am reluctant to go ,the Welsh Regiment as it it now said he may have fought in the 1842 campaigns of GHUZEE or CABUL how can I find the medal lists for these .any help would be appreciated
Try the British Medal Forum, the people on there are normally very helpful and one of the members may have the muster role you require.
Regards,
Paul.
